The Ontario Artist Blacksmith Association is seeking
financial assistance for the CanIRON VIII
Opening/Closing Ceremonies. These ceremonies will
feature some of the wonderful creations forged by
talented artist blacksmiths from across Ontario. Your
donation will also help provide supplies needed by
demonstrators.
Auction items
One of the most popular events of CanIRON is our
auction. That's why we are asking if you have any items
to be included in the auction or our daily
Iron-in-the-Hat draws. The auction will take place on
Saturday, July 30th at 7 pm. Everyone is invited to drop
by and make a bid.
Conference program
We are currently in the early stages of developing our
conference programs. With an anticipated attendance of
about 1,200 people during the course of the 4-day
conference, this would be a great opportunity for local
business to sponsor the event by purchasing advertising
space in the program. Hurry while space lasts.

OABA and CanIRON
The Ontario Artist Blacksmith Association was
established in 1982 to serve as an organization for
local blacksmiths to exchange creative ideas, access
teaching and learning opportunities, and provide a
supportive network for members.
CanIRON is the bi-annual national blacksmith's
conference, which moves across Canada for each session.
Last seen in Ontario in 2003, CanIRON 8 will build on
the successful lessons of past conferences.
CanIRON VIII is open to paid registrations, with aspects
open to the general public :
Canadian and international demonstrators showcasing
their skills and knowledge
Feature demonstrations, lectures and teaching stations
An auction and daily draws
A gallery of blacksmiths' artwork
Exhibition/information booths from blacksmithing schools
and suppliers
We are all looking forward hosting a very successful
CanIRON VIII conference. You can help make that
happen!
